Lise’s fine art website homepage displayed on a Mac desktop, featuring her artwork and bespoke website design.
A bespoke Wix Studio website designed to showcase Lise’s artwork, celebrate her growing reputation and create a professional online home for her fine art.

The ask

Lise Poulsen is a talented fine artist whose work had already begun attracting wider recognition, including being shortlisted for Wildlife Artist of the Year. Having built a business selling original paintings and taking commissions for portraits and pet portraits, she was ready to take the next professional step and expand her reach beyond exhibitions and word of mouth sales.

She needed an online shop that could showcase her work, give press coverage a permanent home and allow customers to discover and purchase her art directly, even when she wasn't physically there to make the sale.

The challenge

Lise's website needed to do more than look beautiful. It had to work as a practical sales platform, giving her a way to showcase her collections, manage products and take payments online, while supporting her growing reputation as an artist.

There was another important consideration: Lise was new to managing websites and lacked confidence with computers. The solution needed to be accessible and straightforward to use, with the right training and support to help her take ownership of her online shop rather than rely on someone else to manage it for her.

The project

I designed and built a bespoke Wix Studio ecommerce website, creating a professional online home for Lise's artwork and a central destination for potential buyers, collectors and press.

The project included:

  • E-commerce website design: A tailored design to complement Lise's existing logo and let her artwork take centre stage.

  • Online shop setup: Wix eCommerce configuration, product and category setup, payment and checkout, shipping and customer accounts, creating the foundations for direct online sales.

  • Core website pages: To introduce Lise, showcase her work and provide the information commission customers need.

  • Blog and press hub: A place to share news, updates, exhibitions and press coverage, giving her growing profile somewhere to live online.

  • Customer connections: Contact forms, newsletter signup, form automation and social media integration to help visitors stay connected with her work.

  • SEO and launch foundations: Mobile optimisation, basic SEO setup, cookie consent, privacy policy and terms and conditions pages, favicon, domain connection, social links and website indexing.

  • One-to-one training and handover: A dedicated live video training session, supported by a PDF handover and training guide, to help Lise confidently manage her website and shop independently.

For me, the handover is just as important as the build itself. I don't want clients to feel that their website is something they have to come back to me for every time they need to upload a new product or make a simple change. My aim is to give every client the knowledge and confidence to manage their own content, keep things up to date and grow their business on their own terms.

"I couldn’t be happier with my new website! Sara was absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. She was incredibly patient, kind, helpful and professional, and her knowledge and expertise were invaluable throughout the whole process. She really took the time to understand my vision and brought it to life beautifully, creating a website that feels modern, chic and professional while still reflecting me and my artwork perfectly. I am so pleased with the finished result and would highly recommend Sara to anyone looking for someone who is talented, knowledgeable and genuinely cares about getting things right. Five stars all the way!" - Lise Poulsen

From browsing original artwork to exploring individual pieces and completing checkout, the website was designed to make buying art online straightforward. The walkthrough also showcases the supporting pages that bring Lise’s work, story and growing profile together in one place.

The result and impact

Lise now has a professional e-commerce website that brings her artwork, commissions and growing reputation together in one place. Her website gives potential customers a direct route to discover and buy her work, whether they're browsing after an exhibition, finding her through press coverage or discovering her online for the first time.

And one of the best outcomes? Lise has gone on to upload all her products to the website herself, putting her training into practice and taking ownership of her online shop.

That's what a successful website launch looks like to me: not just a great-looking site, but a business owner equipped to use it, manage it and build on it independently.

Congratulations, Lise! Here's to your next chapter and many more people discovering your work.
